My Summer Essentials

Even though the British weather isn't looking too much like summer at the minute, I thought I would share my favourite products that I have been putting to use over the last few years around this time of year!

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB in 'Light' | So unfortunately, I am not a person who has to get darker foundations to match their tanned skin. The closest I get to a tan is when it's fake... I am not kidding, but I burn at the drop of a hat. This was discovered to its full extent last summer, when on holiday in France, I burned on the cloudiest, rainiest day. Great... This BB cream has SPF 30 in it, which caters to my sunburn needs, and, it feels very light and fresh on the skin, which is good because I don't want to feel like I have a full face of makeup on some of the hottest days of the year! The coverage is very light, which means if you have problem/breakout areas on your skin like me, you might find yourself using concealer to cover areas the BB cream didn't do a great job on. But hey, for £7.99 you can't complain!

Sure Maximum Protection Deodorant in 'Confidence' | OK, so this might sound odd, but I've used this for so many summers now, that the smell of it reminds me of my holidays. Yeah, told you it sounds odd. How many times have you been wearing a deodorant, caught a whiff of it and thought 'hmm this reminds me of London 2014'. Never? OK... must just be me then... Joking aside, this deodorant is actually my life saver over the summer months. Admittedly, I never buy this product at full price. Full price is £5, and I usually stock up when there are offers on. I got about 4 a few months back in a Superdrug 2 for £4 offer, which is such a good deal. This deodorant is basically an industrial strength roll on deodorant. It lasts all day and smells amazing. Definitely one of my essentials!

NEXT Make Me Beautiful lip crayon in 'Soft Rose' | I'm a sucker for these pencil/lipsticks/balm hybrids in pink shades throughout the summer. Last year I had a Rimmel one, but when I spotted this one, I knew I had to get it. It's more warm than the Rimmel one, which means I actually prefer the shade a lot more. It is super soft and creamy on the lips and looks amazing with dewy, glowy, natural makeup.

Prada Candy Florale | I bought this last year whilst on holiday in Sephora. It is honestly, now, my ultimate summer fragrance, It reminds me so much of my holiday last year, and is both sweet and floral in scent. Definitely worth a smell next time you're in Debenhams!

Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in 'Lychee' | I do love my lilac and baby blue shades of nail polish during the summer, but you can never beat a simple nude shade! It goes with everything, and looks even nicer if I've fake tanned a little! The formula of this is amazing, and is very opaque with just one coat. It is long lasting, and again, just goes with everything I own in my summer wardrobe! Definitely worth a shot for £3.99!

NEXT Make Me Beautiful Eyeshadow Palette | So if I'm honest, I have no clue what the name of this palette in, but if you're interested in getting it, it is the one with the pinky shimmery shades in it. I have been wearing the pink shade from this palette a lot with just an eyeliner wing and I've been absolutely loving it. It makes my makeup look a lot fresher and summery. It looks amazing with the lip crayon I mentioned earlier and a gold toned highlighter!

  1. I currently use the Prada Candy fragrance, and love it. It's very fresh yet still very floral. Unfortunately, the BB cream from Maybelline made me incredibly oily, but that just may because the Texas heat we're having it too much too handle!
