A Week in the Peak District

Last week, me and my family travelled from Newcastle to Matlock Bath for a few nights in a B&B! We went to a few different places each day, and this is my lil travel journal-esque post for me to look back on in the future!

Day 1

We left at about 9am on Monday morning, which meant an early start (idk how I did it if I'm used to getting up at 11am recently). Of course, we had to stop off for a McDonalds breakfast on the way - pretty sure that's just a rule now for us whenever we go away? Anyway, after a 2 hour drive, we decided to stop off in Buxton on the way, which is a spa town with a lovely park and a few shops which of course I had to look around!

After looking around Buxton, we decided to go to the Carsington Water reservoir before going to the B&B. We got ice creams and sat by the lake in the sun before having a a wander around the surrounding area. We then went to a pub that we've been to on previous holidays around the area called The Knockerdown for some food. After the meal, we went to the B&B and basically just got straight in bed! We were so tired after walking around and all that food!

Day 2

We decided to meet up with my uncle and his fiancé in Bakewell. We arrived a little earlier so we had a wander round and a coffee. Once we met up with them, we walked along the old train tracks and had a little picnic, before heading for a walk over some of the countryside. It was a boiling hot day, so needless to say we were all absolutely sweating by the time we finished it!

We then had another wander around the shops before heading back to the B&B at about 7 and heading out for some tea. We then headed back to the B&B at about 8!

Day 3

We decided to go into Derby for the day to do some shopping in their big shopping centre they have in the city, which of course I loved since I am the designated shopaholic of the family. I didn't actually buy much which is a complete change for me! We had a light lunch before heading over to Nottingham to see my uncle and his fiancé again!

We headed to the National Water Sports centre for a little look around, and of course, an ice cream whilst sitting in and soaking up the sun, before heading over to my uncles house for tea which was lovely! We didn't arrive back to the B&B until about half 9, so I watched my episode of Pretty Little Liars I had been looking forward to all day before heading to bed!

Day 4

Ok, so I lied... I wasn't there for a week, I was only there for 4 days, but hey - what does it matter for the sake of a semi-decent post title eh? We headed back home on Thursday and stopped off in Harrogate on the way. We had a little look around the shops and a walk in the park, until we decided we were just too tired to continue really, and headed back to the car to finish the rest of the journey home! I did completely drool over this rose gold telephone though and haven't stopped thinking about it since!

Once we got back to my home town, I went and collected my A-Level results which my bestie Sarah vvvv kindly picked up for me, and found out I had gotten a B in my Media which I was soooo happy with! I thought I had messed up the exam ngl!

I really enjoyed my little holiday and I'm so glad the weather was nice! Where have you been on your holidays this year?
