Favourite Autumn/Christmas Yankee Candles

Ok ok... I know this post's a bit odd. But hey, I'm always looking for new candle scents to pick up, so why not do a full post about one of my fave parts of the colder, winter months?

Don't get me wrong, leaving the house without loads of layers during the summer is nice, but can anything beat having cosy Sunday's in bed in a Christmas jumper with an abundance of candles burning? I think not. Not even that, but I love going out in a thick winter coat and scarf - outfit planning is literally 10x easier. Not having to think about if your top matches your jacket always saves time in the morning. Anyway, this isn't a post about the many reasons I like the winter months, so back to candles...

'Snow in Love' - This is one of my all time favourite candles out of the Christmas range. It's not a sweet or sickly scent - it's very light and fresh. "Fall in love with this delightful blend of creamy, comforting woods and wintry powder freshness".

'Fireside Treats' - This one is a lot more sweet and sickly than the first, but I love it none the less. I've had this for years and I always get it out around September time. It's very autumnal and is one of the scents I love, but the rest of my family hate because of the sweetness.

'Sugared Apple' - This one is amazing if I'm honest. It has such a strong scent, and it's just as strong when it's not even lit. It smells almost like a caramel apple, and is again a very very sweet scent. I've had this one for a good few years as well and has lasted me so long. I'd recommend this one to anyone who loves the really sweet scents. Again, it's another one that my family hate - but hey, you can't please everyone.

'Christmas Eve' - This is one of my newer additions to my collection. I got it last Christmas as a gift, but decided to save it until this Christmas to burn it. It's a spiced plum and berry scent which is a lot fresher than some of the others I use regularly!

Autumn Handbag Essentials

As Autumn is fast approaching (yas, finally!!) I decided I had to switch up the things I was keeping in my handbag to be more fitting for the colder months...

Zoella 'Wonder Hand' Hand Cream - I've mentioned this in a post previously but oh my it is absolutely amaze! The scent is very light and the formula sinks into your hands so quickly. Being able to feel the hand cream for hours after in a greasy layer is one of my absolute hatreds and this doesn't do it as much as the others I've tried! At £5.50 you can't go wrong!

Maybelline Baby Lips 'Holiday Spice' - I literally bought this in like the beginning of August... The Christmas products cannot start too early! I always carry a lip balm around with me, whether it be tinted like this one, or a tube of the Dr Paw Paw balm. I've been enjoying this one for the tint as it has amazing pigmentation, and as the perfect way to add a little berry tint on your lips for everyday without being too dark or bold! It has been perfect for me since I do not suit berry lips at all - the perfect compromise!

Hand Sanitiser - I'm not too picky on the brand for hand sanitisers - to me they all really do the same thing! This one is from primark and it's pink and has a pretty strong sweet strawberry scent. Not gunna lie though I might have to get my hands on the new Zoella Beauty hand sanitiser because I am in love with the smell of the core collection of products!

Katy Perry 'Killer Queen' Perfume - It can't just be me who gets a perfume for Christmas, and so every time you wear it you're reminded of Christmas? No? Just me? Ok then... But seriously though I got this for Christmas last year and I literally can't tell you how much it now reminds me of Christmas day. It makes it my perfect perfume for the upcoming winter months to get me ready and exited for the festivities to begin!

So there you go... some of my handbag essentials for the autumnal months! What are your handbag essentials?

Barry M Daylight Curing Polish

Since I am a self confessed nail polish addict, I am actually so surprised I didn't try these for as long ad I did. I got on board with their Gelly polish hype, and didn't think these would be much different if I'm honest. I was watching Gabby's vlog and noticed she mentioned them and was saying how good they were, so unsurprisingly, I had to pick up one when I was in Superdrug!

I picked up the sunset topcoat along with the purple colour, 'Dark Side of the Shroom' first and I absolutely fell in love with them. The colour was opaque with one coat and the topcoat made it look like I'd just had gels done professionally. They were so shiny! Because I loved that shade so much, I decided to pick up a blush pink shade a few days later since I've never been able to find a good opaque shade similar to this. Unfortunately, I still haven't. The colour doesn't seem to be anywhere near as opaque as the purple one. It would've ended up with about 5 coats on to achieve the colour I wanted - and who has time for that?! I think this shade would work amazingly with a french manicure, when you only want a sheer coat of it to finish off. But, I would 100% recommend the purple shade for if you want all over colour though! They're often on offer as well - I got mine on a buy one get one half price offer which means it only cost around £7.50 instead of £10! I think the darker shades are definitely going to be the paints with the best coverage for the price!

Have you tried any of the daylight curing nail polishes? Which is your favourite?

What's on my desk?

I've seen a few of these posts around over the last couple of months, and honestly, it just gave me ridiculous desk envy! I haven't had a desk for almost a year now, and I'm not gunna lie, I've missed it a lot. As I am a lovely daughter, I sacrificed my desk to my parents so they could use it when they work from home. But, I'm also pretty indecisive - so I asked for it back. If I'm honest though, I'm so happy I did.

Desk - Argos || Pink Paper Fairy Lights - Primark || Copper Bell Heart - ASDA || Cork Board and Pom Pom Push Pins - WHSmith || Polaroid Prints - Cheerz

Fake Flowers - Wilkinsons || Vase - The Baltic Gift Shop || Pen Pots - IKEA || List Book - Wilkinsons || Cinema Light Box - New Look

Aroma Diffuser - Ebay || Hammered Metal Tealight Holder - Tesco || Christmas Candles - Yankee Candle || Monogram Mug - ASDA || Copper Lamp - Tesco

I'm absolutely in love with how it's turned out. Also, note the Christmas candles - yeah, these came out of my Christmas decoration box in late July I'm not gunna lie. I just want winter now!

In my desk drawer, I keep things that I like to be easily accessible whilst I'm sitting working, such as hand cream, screen wipes for my laptop and a candle lighter. Underneath the drawer, on the shelves, I keep the overflow from my makeup storage, and a box full of nail polishes. (I need to sort out my nail polishes, it's becoming a slight problem...)

What do you keep on your desk?
