Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks

I've always been a little bit skeptical about Jeffree Star products. Not going to lie, after the scandal that happened with Kat Von D, I wasn't sure I wanted to ever buy any. After watching Caito Potatoes Jeffree Star makeup tutorial series from the beginning, I became more and more curious. What harm could buying one do?

 'Leo'
'Masochist'

'Masochist' was the first one I got. It's a very bright, raspberry pink shade and I fell in love with it instantly. Everything from the colour, the packaging, the applicator and the consistency of the product. It's got a velvety consistency, and applies amazingly with the slightly fluffy doe-foot applicator. One thing I did notice however, is if you don't apply with a lip liner, the colour does tend to bleed into your skin. The wear was amazing, so I decided to go back onto Beauty Bay and purchase a second.

I got 'Leo' because it looked like the perfect nude shade. Oh how I was wrong. Don't get me wrong, I love the colour. It was definitely a step out of my comfort zone. As much as I now love the colour, the products just aren't the same at all. This one had a funny, damp smell, which is a little bit of a put off when you're applying it. Once dry, you can't smell the damp smell anymore, but it just makes applying it a little bit uncomfortable to say the least. Also, the product is not the same as 'Masochist'. It's more watery, which again, makes it a bit of a pain to apply. Once you get a hang of the applicator, however, it does become a lot easier.

Overall, I noticed massive inconsistencies in the products, like the odour and the consistency of the product itself. Even though I'm a massive fan of 'Leo', it isn't the same product as the first one I got. I'd love to know if any of the other colours he sells has this same problem. Like I said, once the products dry down, they're extremely long wearing, however those slight problems highly put me off buying another colour.

Have you tried any Jeffree Star lipsticks? What did you think of them?

    1. It's so weird! I got told they're meant to smell like liquorice, neither of mine do! But you'd think they were completely different products they're not similar at all!x
